Call for Referees
 

The Academic Committee of the 4th Paris International Conference on Education, Economy and Society is looking for Referees willing to take part in the selection process. The Referees will be offered their registration fees. The role of a Referee comprises two parts.

 

1/ Abstract Reviewing

Review 200 abstracts (200 words each) and, for each of them, provide the Committee with recommendations for acceptance or rejection. The abstract review is to be performed between 20 October and 20 December 2011. Meeting the deadline is critical.

 

2/ Full Paper Refereeing

Referee the initial and the revised versions of up to 20 full papers. For each of them, provide, as necessary: suggestions for revision, motives for rejection, or recommendations for Acceptance. What is expected here is not only copy editing (correcting spelling, grammar, word usage, etc.), but also and overall content assessment (Is there a clear statement of the research question? Is the research method or approach relevant? Was it properly executed? Are there mistakes, unclarities, lacks or problems? Are the results consistent with the research design? ...). The refereeing process will take place from 10 March to 20 May 2012. Meeting the deadlines is critical.

 

Requirements

 

- Sound experience as an educational researcher

- Experience as a referee

- Familiarity with various areas of Education

- Native English speaker or Bilingual French-English 

- Good command in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word, especially the Track Changes mode and the Insert Comment function of Word

- Availability to perform the reviews within the abovementioned periods of time. Please note that acting as a Referee is time consuming: do not apply if you are not available. 

- Demonstrated reliability in meeting deadlines

- Willingness to adapt to- and comply with the evaluation procedure in use in the Academic Committee
