Keynote speaker

Professor Patricia Champy-Remoussenard

The keynote address will be delivered by Professor Patricia Champy-Remoussenard, President of the French association for educational research (Association des Enseignants et Chercheurs en Sciences de l’Education – AECSE) and managing editor of Recherche & Educations. Her area is the relationship between Education and Working life, with a focus on theorizing activity and formalizing experience.

Professor Champy-Remoussenard will elaborate on ‘Cognition and recognition of work, and understanding the relationship between work, education and training: What is at stake?’ Increasing attention paid by the educational system to working life needs, to competencies, to recognizing informal learning, and blurring borders between initial education and continuing training as aspirations for lifelong learning expand through society, are shaping a new educational landscape. Within this context, work analysis and knowledge are of critical importance to update reflections on education and its social functions. The current situation of knowledge and recognition of human work is well represented by some institutional settings and educational/training practices. Combining formal courses with work, actions to bring education and industry closer, engineering of training, and the recognition and validation of experience will be analyzed in this regard.
